There is a huge link between anxiety and bullying.

This week is anti-bullying week.

I want to highlight the correlation between people that get bullied and anxiety.

Over 70% of children experience bullying of some sort during their school years.

This can have a devastating impact on the life of the individual, and not just at the time it is happening, but for many years after.

There is a huge link between anxiety and bullying.

Bullying in any situation is humiliating, hurtful and can leave a person with deep emotional scars.

Many of my clients who I have treated for anxiety were bullied at some point, either at school or in the workplace, even some in the home.

It's no surprise that bullying has a direct impact on a person's self esteem and self worth.

If a child is bullied during their imprinting years, it creates or adds to their belief about themselves that they are not good enough. Every client that I’ve ever seen owns some kind of belief that they are not good enough or...

What happens when you are bullied in the workplace?

What happens when you are bullied in the workplace?
Have you questioned - is it just me?
Am I imagining it?
Am I just being over sensitive?
Is this just the culture within my workplace? The Norm?
Trust me, you're not alone.
Bullying in your place of work can leave you feeling anxious, on edge, upset, paranoid, unworthy and more.
Worse, it can even start to affect your physical health too.
So, what can you do?I interviewed Talent Director Amber Burns about her experience with bullying in the workplace, how it affected her and her career and how she overcame it to run her own successful business.

The Importance of Connection for Wellbeing & a Healthy, Productive Life

Connection is everything.

But what does connection even mean, really?

Connection is something that we, as humans, need to survive. Connection to both self and others is one of the fundamental needs of any human being.

Connection with a community of like-minded people is also super important.

How we get this connection can be what I call 'resourceful' (positive) or 'unresourceful' (negative).

The thing with human needs is that, in order to meet them, we will go over and above what is important to us. We will over ride our own value system to make sure that our individual human needs are met.

Wild isn’t it?

Here is an example of how that could look in real life:

One partner is not feeling like they have connection to their loved one. If that persons needs of connection and love are not being met, no matter how much they think cheating is wrong, even if honesty is right at the top of their value list, they will potentially cheat if they feel that strong sense of connection coming...

Low Self-Esteem and How it Affects Your Wellbeing

What is Self Esteem?

Self-esteem is how we value or fundamentally think about ourselves. When we think highly of ourselves then we have high self-esteem and when we think bad of ourselves we have low self-esteem. Now, this esteem stuff can vary depending on where we are in our lives. Often if we have had a challenging time then it can directly impact on our self- esteem and self-worth.

How self-esteem directly impacts your ability to manage stress and anxiety

If you already have the belief that you are not good enough, that you don’t deserve to be happy/healthy/wealthy, if you already have the belief that you are not loved or you are not worthy then these are the limiting beliefs that will create your day-to-day internal dialogue. You know - that little voice in your head that often shares way too much? J

You have 60-80 thousand thoughts every single day and on a daily basis those thoughts are...

Let’s talk about bodies and how your relationship with your physical body plays a big part in your mental health.

Before I specialised in anxiety, my previous niche was weight loss, but not calorie counting and watching what you eat, cutting out vital food groups or any of that nonsense. I used to teach - and still do - about loving yourself back into shape.

I believe in being healthy and strong, living life and getting out of your own way so that you are really connected to your purpose and passion and in that moment, in that time and space. Your body will become happy and your weight will become healthy and you will feel like you can enjoy your life without obsessing over what you are consuming.

I have had lots on of clients whose mental health directly relates to body image.

I know too well the angst of feeling stressed and anxious because your body doesn’t look like it used to, or it could do or how the models look on social media. This...

Never in my life have I heard the term “health anxiety” like I am doing right now.  Anxiety is a real-life issue that is totally exhausting, for those that suffer from it. If you add on feeling anxious about your health on top of that, it’s just a recipe for a pretty stressful life. Ouch!

What is health anxiety?

This is when you feel anxious that something is wrong, or you are going to get something wrong with your physical health!

This means that every single pain that you have, every single flutter of the heart, every unusual body movement, and that’s it, you can only focus on that and then you’ll go down the rabbit hole of wondering what the hell is going on.

The next step is self-diagnosis….you know good old doctor Google! I know you’ve done it, I think we all have at some point in our lives. In the next moment you’ve diagnosed yourself with having a heart condition, MS or Lupus, even Brain Cancer or something...

Why trusting yourself is more important now than ever before - not only for your personal resilience but for your mental, physical and emotional health !

Let me tell you how much of a miracle you are;

You have 50 trillion cells in your body at any one time, now, I don’t know what 50 trillion of anything looks like, but, to be honest but its a pretty big bunch of awesomeness!

Right now, in this 1 second, 30 million cells have just died and then the same amount have just taken their place!

Each and every single cell has an electric voltage right in it… add them up and we are just filled with electrical energy that is literally miraculous and as powerful as lightening striking...

Each and every cell is created and is imprinted with out thoughts, our feelings, our belief systems, experiences, what we eat, how we exercise and our sleep patterns

Our wellbeing is hinged on our inner technology and not anything external to us, yet, right now we are being conditioned to...

She nearly broke me! Warning vulnerable share…

If you’d have been with me in May 2015, you’d have found me sitting in front of a group of wonderful women…I was in one of my favourite places on the planet, Ibiza…The smell of the morning air was delightfully fresh, the sounds of nature all around, so healing for the soul. Yet…this morning I wasn’t  feeling like I was being healed, I wasn’t feeling peaceful, inspired and happy, I felt totally the opposite!  I normally adore running retreats, I love the sense of accomplishment and the transformation that my clients go through, whilst they immerse themselves in Yoga, Meditation, clean eating, hypnosis, coaching and other life changing activities…This particular morning was very different though…I was sat, with my clients in front of me, hiding my tear stained face behind my, typically, over sized sunglasses! I was suppressing the sobs, praying that nobody...

Meaning Making Machines

We are meaning making machines! What is a meaning making machine, I hear you ask?

Your wonderful brain is always looking for information, finding the answers to your questions.

When you were in your formative years, you soaked up everything that you’re told, well most things anyway. Especially, if we are being influenced by the people that we love the most. You  were like little sponges. Soaking up all new knowledge and it be imprinted into your mind.

Great stuff when you are learning how to tie  your shoe laces or make your own bed, yet not so grand when you are listening to your auntie telling her friend that your sister is the clever one or you your brother tell you that you’re hopeless! Bloody charming, I know!

What your curious, meaning making brain will do is create a meaning for you, depending on what you were listening to. So, an example maybe:

I am stupid

I am not good enough

I am unlovable

I don’t...

Can resilience be learned and mastered, or is it just the luck of the draw whether you are deemed a resilient person or not?

Great question, don’t you think?

One of the things that we really need in these difficult, uncertain and unchartered times is resilience. Resilience is simply the ability to recover from a traumatic or disturbing experience as quickly as possible. So, what makes some of us more resilient than others? How is it that some people appear to bear the brunt of endless trauma, but are still standing – often still left with a smile on their face - while others crumble?

It all starts with resilience mindset.

I have created a system - THE CONSCIOUS RESILIENCE CREATOR - which I am teaching my Anxiety Release Method™ practitioners. The system is designed for us in the wellness industry to support our clients when they need it most, so that anxiety doesn’t become part of their everyday lives. If you or...
